Democracy is always a fragile matter. The conflict between the Law of the Jungle and the Rule of Law is present within every democratic society. There are always some citizens whose desire for power, wealth, and total control over others leads them to authoritarianism. The very nature of Democracy requires freedoms for the citizens. Those freedoms permit those seeking power to plan and execute their nefarious plans for power and control. Democracy prevails if the Rule of Law triumphs and honorable men and women execute their democratic responsibilities. If the Rule of Law fails to hold the power-seekers responsible for their misdeeds, the Law of the Jungle prevails, and Democracy fades into memory. Unlike an authoritarian government based on the Law of the Jungle, that deprives citizens of freedom to discuss, advocate, and act upon their inclinations, Democracy accepts and permits the seeds of its own destruction to fester and explode. WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, have experienced numerous challenges to our Democracy since we became independent of England in 1783. In the 21st Century, we face the greatest threat to our Democracy since the Civil War. We face the looming question. What can we do to save our Democracy
