In the twenty-second century mankind has finally invented a way to combine technology with the human body. The smart chip wrist implants revolutionize the world's way of life, offering the ability to always stay connected, and brings rise to a new social media platform: The Phlicker Feed. However, with the inception of such technology, society begins to lose the very things that make them human, such as the ability to think and form connections with one another. A social media post triggers a world war. A mysterious cosmic anomaly known as Black Cloud appears not long after and transforms the planet. Humanity begins to evolve past the need for the old technology and begins to reconnect, using intuition and the energy within rather than artificial means. A new moon dominates the sky, deep state organizations play clandestine games, a new human subspecies wreaks havoc throughout the world, along with a strange race of beings who have mysteriously appeared on the planet. A paradigm shift is at play for the characters of First Sparks, as they traverse the drastically changing world, while desperately trying to maintain their grip on what they perceive as reality.
