"My heart felt too big for my chest as I thought about Pont L’Eveque and the grim days of the invasion…Miss Merritte, the war and on the road of my life a turning point." This is our Grandmom. And as an adult I realize that this period of her life, although spanning only 6 years of her youth, was the crucible that made her the woman she is today. In celebrating her 90th birthday, 12 May 2012, it is with great satisfaction that we publish this book and share it with her and the rest of the family today. Now, through this, even my children (her great-grandchildren), and their children, can try to understand her sacrifices, determination and faith, and know the woman whom we call Grandmom. I pray that all of us have inherited a bit of her character. - T.J.C.
