Growing up near one of the greatest cities on earth had its benefits. While actually being born and raised in New Jersey, I found the lure of New York impossible to ignore. From my earliest years, I traveled into the big city for entertainment. When time came to earn a living, there was only one place to go. From my first job at Columbia Pictures, I eventually migrated to F. Schumacher & Company, renowned over a century for selling its Waverly fabrics to the high-class carriage trade. Then in New Jersey, I worked a time at Bloomingdale’s where I saw many celebrities shopping. But the city offered much more in culture, amusement, and entertainment beyond one's wildest expectations. This is an account of my life "crossing over the border" into my New York life.
