A few memorable encounters described within include: tiptoeing among vast numbers of blue and purple Portuguese man o' war on the beaches of Mozambique, face to face encounters with massive sperm whales in Dominica, observing black coastal wolves foraging along the shorelines of British Columbia, and swimming among starfish spawning by the thousands in the seemingly psychedelic surf of the Philippines.
