A Quiet Storm is a coming-of-age story about Estevan, who was adopted in infancy by the Vela family, who moved from Santa Monica, California, to San Quintín in Baja. The metaphorical storm represents all the trials and tribulations that Estevan must navigate to become the person he is today: a kind and considerate English teacher who was able to turn his experiences into an inspirational novel about the power of love and self-determination.
