Teenager Beth meets a fascinating stranger living along the Cornish cliff tops who has a strange and mysterious secret to tell that will transform the lives of them both. Beth lives with her mum and two younger sisters in a seaside town along the Cornish coast. Her parents are separated, her mum is struggling to raise three kids on her own and her dad, a soldier, has been away fighting in Afghanistan. Life at home is chaos, the house is a mess, bills aren’t paid, and her mum just doesn’t seem to care anymore. After a fight with her mum about school, Beth leaves and meet the old man who she’s seen swimming in the rough sea. He tells her that his wife is a goat and he invites the girl to visit his house on top of the cliffs. Over the course of the following days, Beth stays in the DVD store where her friend works. At night she has unusual dreams that seem to tie her to an unusual life beyond her everyday. She is led to a mysterious secret knowledge that will transform her life, and leads her back home, to forgiveness, redemption, and new found hope.
