The American National Transportation System adds to our current transportation capabilities and transports not only people around our country but also energy and communications. It is a bold but simple idea about a project that puts existing technologies together to accomplish this, in an economical and environmentally friendly manner. It will spur innovation and technology; provide purpose and reasons to seek knowledge in the mathematics and engineering fields. It provides not only JOBS for American workers, but opportunities.  Does it sound too good to be true? Well, one way to find out. You can have an impact on the unemployment problem in America. Once you have read this book, it will take only a short amount of time for you to do something about the unemployment problem, and it won't cost you another nickel. " The American National Transportation System (A.N.T.S.) is my first book and I wrote it to solve a major problem we face in America today which is the large number of people unemployed or underemployed. I have often wondered what inspired me to do this book and I can only say that some force compelled me to this effort. I describe a number of happenstances that I observed prior to ever thinking about writing this book, and at some point it all came together in my mind--the idea and solution that I write about that will solve this problem.  Sure, I have been influenced by the writings of some of our past presidents and other public figures and in preparation for the book, little did I know, I spent many hours viewing television and business programs from both sides of the political fence that also influenced my opinions. I've mixed in a some personal stories from my earlier days that tie in with the environment and career experiences, briefly touched on the more common causes for unemployment, and added some observations from elders that have turned out to be spot on and I am happy with what I have created. I hope you enjoy reading A.N.T.S. Keith Felix was born in the Midwest in 1954.  He now resides in the "Show Me" state of Missouri, along with his wife Marsha. They have raised four children. Prior to his first book, A.N.T.S., he had spent the last forty years working in the Problem Solving Business as an Engineer, Project Manager, and Independent Consultant.  Overlapping his professional career, he spent his remaining available time coaching youth sports, gardening, and playing music. Briefly retired, and better late than never began reading more history books, newspapers and magazines, and, watching television programs other than sports and became acutely aware of a major problem in America; unemployment and underemployment.   He began thinking about this devastating problem that Billions of Tax Payer Dollars have yet to overcome, and due to several coincidental events occurring over a short period of time, an IDEA surfaced. He writes about how this idea came about in his book and you then understand why and how this project was conceived and why it can work. He  provides a common sense approach to solving the problem and reduces a large volume of work into a "Readers Digest" style of writing that just about anyone can comprehend. He does explore the cause(s) of unemployment and rationality behind some of those causes(s) but remains upbeat about the future without leaving reality. His solution to the problem proposes the creation of an economical and environmentally friendly unique grid and routing system all over America for the high speed transportation of Energy, Communications and People. He understands and identifies the political challenges involved and so asks America to get behind this project and tells them how they can make it happen in a step by step manner that could work, if enough of the citizenry decide to do so.
