A True Story of a daughter’s journey through nearly 25 years with her dad in a Federal Prison This is the journey of my dad and me, after he was sentenced way beyond the Federal Guidelines after a standoff between the FBI and the Montana Militia. Although never violent, he was labeled a terrorist and unnecessarily lived in fear and died shackled to a hospital bed with Cancer although he could not move. This was the result of decisions made by a system that creates injustices while having a mission statement that claims to provide humane care. You will experience the fear, frustration, and sometimes joy as I share his letters, government documents, and the faith he maintained throughout his ordeal. Amy Landers-Kearney has worked within the criminal justice system in both treatment and supervisory roles. She has devoted her life to creating change within the system that results in innovative growth, improvement, and compassion for all the inmates and families affected. She is committed to continue this work until the system acts justly in each and every individual case. Amy lives with her husband and children in Waterloo, Iowa.
