This is a speed control wiper contact for 1982 to 1994 electric EZGO golf carts with resistor style speed control.
The original length is 1 1/2". Replace it if it is less than 3/4" long. This contact has a black sleeve around it. If the contact does not freely slide inside the black sleeve, or if the wiper contact itself has become too short, the car will not accelerate properly, if at all.
Also, if the wiper contact or speed board contacts have signs of melting or arcing, be sure to check the resistor array. Loose or broken resistors or loose cable connections will cause speed board meltdowns.
