On July 31st, 2022, author Kelly Leibfreid, and her husband, Craig, boarded a passenger train headed to Montana with nothing but what they could carry in hiking bags on their backs and tote bags in their hands. The train would take them from Pennsylvania to the Midwest, across the High Plains, and finally to their destination: the Rocky Mountains. From there, they would pick up a rental car and explore Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. As nomads, they would see a part of America they never saw before, and would learn much about life along the way. This book chronicles that adventure, following their path as they traverse mountains both rugged and beautiful, witness wild animals in their natural habitats, and gaze upon otherworldly geysers and hot springs as they travel through the wonders of the great American West.
