A travelogue of a two-way drive across the United States. The Yellowstone Trail, the longest of America's named auto trails, was driven east to west. Historic Route 20, the longest of the United States Numbered Highways, was driven west to east. Surroundings ranged from cities like Boston and Chicago to open spaces like those in Wyoming and Montana while the roads ranged from multi-lane expressways to grassy two-tracks. The 37-day drive covered more than 9,000 miles and passed through 17 states. Illustrated with nearly 200 photographs.
