WHAT IS VENETIAN PLASTER: Also known as “stucco Veneziano”, Venetian plaster is a wall and ceiling finish consisting of plaster mixed with marble dust, which is then applied with a spatula or trowel in thin, multiple layers. When burnished, Venetian plaster creates a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture. When left un-burnished it has a rougher, stone-like and matte finish. You, the artist, have the option to add tint or color to this plaster using natural or synthetic colorants. FOR A VARIETY OF PROJECTS: The possibilities for creating beautiful works of art with Venetian plaster are practically endless! Trowel it onto canvas to create gallery quality wall art that would usually cost thousands. Add depth and character to foyer walls or make a small powder room a bit more glamorous. You can even use this material on furniture! For this project we recommend first applying our One Step Paint and then thinning the plaster with water before applying it.
