Following a disastrous concert performance, singer/songwriter, Jimmy Button (real name Jim Buckman), awakens from an alcoholic stupor to learn that he is abandoned by his band and blackballed by the music industry. His agent offers little promise that his career can be resurrected. Realizing he has hit rock bottom, Jim leaves New York for New England to dry out and ponder his fate. After months of abstinence and exercise, he is unexpectedly summoned back to work by Miles Michael McCabe, the new, hard-driving head of his label, Blossom Records. The two men immediately lock horns, but with no other options and anxious to record, Jim is forced to sign a draconian new contract. The collaboration among businessman, McCabe, singer/songwriter, Jim Buckman and a newly discovered Australian singer named Whitehurst ignites an epic portrayal of the glories and pitfalls of the rock music world, culminating in a revelation that their bond is born from a mysterious legacy forged generations back in time.
