This blog is the story of our wonderful World Voyage on the Cunard ship, MV Queen Victoria. I had dreamed of doing a World Voyage on a Cunard ship ever since I was hooked by my first transatlantic crossing on the venerable original RMS Queen Elizabeth in 1962. My husband and I were finally able to realize that dream with a wonderful 91-day voyage on Queen Victoria, across the world's two greatest oceans, through two seas, and, especially memorable, a navigation up the world's greatest river. Along the way, we had many unforgettable experiences, saw many amazing sights and, best of all, met many wonderful people. This book lays out how we prepared before embarkation and all that we experienced during our voyage. Hopefully, it will inspire you to have your own seafaring adventure. Lesley Samuels was born in Kenya and grew up in East Africa and Malta. She met her husband, Brian, in what was then Rhodesia. They moved to the US in 1979. Initially, they were in Philadelphia, and then moved to Chicago, where all 3 of their children were born. They now live in beautiful North Idaho. Lesley loves to travel and has traveled extensively throughout her life, beginning with her first ocean voyage at age 3 and her first round-the-world trip at age 9. Growing up in Kenya, she had the opportunity to experience safaris in all of East Africa's game parks. In her adult life, she and Brian have travelled to many public and private game reserves in Southern, Central and East Africa since 1982. They have also experienced adventure travel in Africa, summiting both Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya and trekking after mountain gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda. Lesley's other travel passion is ocean cruising and she has been fortunate enough to voyage all over the world. Lesley is now working on the ability to help others to fulfill their travel dreams by translating her experience in safari adventures and ocean voyages into memorable travel experiences for future clients of Safarigal Travel Consultants.
