A New Specialty in Mental Health Care Breaking the Last Taboo: Adoption, Foster, and Trafficking Trauma as a Public Health Emergency Mission statement for Adoptiion Evolution 501 c(3) is to EDUCATE VALIDATE AND ADVOCATE Exists to bring the truth of adoption, foster care, and child trafficking or AFCT trauma and adoption literate mental healthto the forefront of public awareness, clinical education, and policy. For nearly a century the mental health community has overlooked the unique and pervasive trauma experienced by the AFCT survivors. Since the Baby Scoop Era tens of millions of families in the USA and hundreds of millions worldwide have been shaped by the lifelong psychological, biological, and intergenerational emotional impacts of voluntary or coerced reliquishment. Yet this remains one of the least recognized public health issues of our time. The statistics are devastating: adoptees are 4x's more prone to suicide, intreatment addiction facilities are comprised of 40% adoptees, , incarceration is 25-30% adopted, Homeless population in the USA is 30% and the highest risk for suicide is first mothers at 350x's more likely to die by suicide. Most AFCT survivors are misdiagnosed or never diagnosed properly with CPTSD and never understand themselves or get the proper treatment they need before these terrible stats come to be.
