This addition to the Adoption Healing series is a compilation of all the articles that I have been asked to write in the last year, These articles address specific issues faced by adoptees and mothers of adoption loss. These articles suggest additional exercises and methods of healing the wounds while working towards better relationships, peace and contentment.- "Joe Soll has probably worked with adoptees and first parents more than anyone else on the planet. His approach has always involved empathy, intuition and introspection, without which dialogue runs dry. Few know the depth of the adoptee and first parent experience as well as Joe Soll, especially the dark side, where loss and loneliness reside. Combining his experience, or perhaps we should say wisdom, with current therapeutic approaches, Joe creates an environment where growth can occur. Read his work, try it out, see how it works for you." -Robert Andersen, M.D., psychiatrist, author of Second Choice: Growing Up Adopted and A Bridge Less Travelled: Twice Visited "Joe Soll has probably worked with adoptees and first parents more than anyone else on the planet. For convenience, I have chosen to use feminine pronouns throughout the book.  There are an equal number of men involved in adoption and it is not my intent to exclude them by my use of the feminine pronouns.   I wrote this supplement to Adoption Healing because in the thirteen years since it was originally published... I've learned new ways of approaching our healing journey, new ways of thinking, new ways of talking to our inner children, new ways to explain the profound nature of the wounds of the separation of mother and child, new ways helping healers understand themselves, new ways of helping those in reunion negotiate these painful and difficult relationships, new ways of guidance towards peace and contentment in our lives. How have I learned? I've learned by listening to my clients, the people who attend the support group meetings and healing weekends and nightly chat. I've learned by reading between the lines of what has been said. I've learned by paying attention to what has not been said. I've learned by watching the eyes filled with dread. I've learned by watching the eyes filled with tears. I've learned by watching bodies wracked with pain. I've learned by watching bodies shaking with terror. I've learned by listening to the soul crying of adoptees and mothers of adoption loss. I've learned by listening to my internal response to others. I've learned by reading books written by others. I've learned by reading the posts on the message boards of Facebook. I've learned by being in the company of eagles, the brave souls who are willing to face their demons to heal.           This Supplement is a compilation of what I've learned in last thirteen years and written down so that I can help you on your healing journey. I originally wrote one book for adoptees and one for mothers of adoption loss. This Supplement to Adoption Healing is not a revision of the original two books so, if you've not read the original Adoption Healing version that applies to you, I suggest you read it before doing the work in the Supplement.. -- While some of the information in the original two books had to be repeated for the Supplement to make sense, most of the information in this Supplement is new, and in addition to, the original Adoption Healing books. I hope you read the Supplement, do the work in it and that doing so helps you on your journey of recovery.  I do inner child work for a few minutes every day.   I do it Every Single day and I look at it as maintenance.    I hope you will too.  A few minutes a day can change your life forever.
