African-American Studies African-American Studies (AAS) examines the history and experiences of Africans (Black people) in the United States as a result of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and African Diaspora. African-American Studies should never be relegated or reduced to slavery alone, but this specific discipline concentrates on the time period starting with Africans being enslaved and brought to America, hence the term African-American Studies. African-American Studies: A Focus On Black Intelligence, Ingenuity, and Revolution This book series speaks from the Black perspective and focuses on the intelligence, ingenuity, and revolutionary spirit of Black historical figures in the United States as a result of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and African Diaspora. It also aims to accurately describe the people and events that are significant to African-American Studies and Black History.
