Often, moms and families of newborns and children born early can unknowingly feel isolated and alone in their situation, their feelings, health, mental health, and direction forward. This groundbreaking motivational journal and testimonial is shared by a two-time NICU mom. After giving birth once as a teenage single parent and then as a married mother of a college student, each experience was unique, leaving pieces to pick up and "get over."Have you ever felt you just needed to get over it? Felt it's not that serious, or you're making a big deal out of nothing?! You can't. It is. You aren't. Your needs, thoughts, and feelings matter. There is a place and space for you to be vulnerable as you process and heal. You can also live your best life as you do! One day at a time. One choice at a time.Be gentle with yourself. You're doing way better than you've given yourself credit for.You are not alone in this journey. As an only child, I navigated many of life's challenges alongside my incredible mother-a dedicated educator and fierce advocate. Growing up with my immediate family, advocacy runs deep, so it's no surprise that I developed a deep passion for it.Becoming a single mother at 18 turned my world upside down, but in ways I never could have imagined-for the better. Since 2009, I have devoted my time to growing, volunteering, and working with individuals and various organizations to educate, advocate, and connect families with vital resources. This, along with my NICU journey, has only deepened my commitment to advocacy impact.I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, writing, photography, community building, and mentoring young adults and single parents.I aim to cherish every moment and wholeheartedly believe my journey is a testament of redemption-proving that with active faith in God, grit, and community, anything is possible.
