Aircraft Performance and Sizing is a concise, practical treatise for the student or experienced professional aircraft designer. This second volume comprises key applied subjects for performance based aircraft design: Systems engineering principles; - Aircraft mass properties estimation; - The aerodynamic design of transonic wings; - Aircraft stability and control and; - Take-off & landing runway performance. This book serves as a textbook for an undergraduate aircraft design course or as a reference for the classically trained practicing engineer. Dr. Timothy Takahashi is a professor of practice for aerospace engineering in the School for the Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy at Arizona State University. He holds a PhD in mechanical and aerospace sciences from the University of Rochester and a JD in high technology law from Santa Clara University. At Arizona State University, he teaches aircraft performance, aerodynamics, aerospace structures & materials, as well as coordinating senior undergraduate capstone projects in fixed wing aircraft design. Prior to joining ASU, he worked at NASA/Ames, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman. Dr. Takahashi is an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, a member of the Multi-Disciplinary-Optimization and Aircraft Design Technical Committees, and a prolific author and co-author of AIAA conference papers.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
