This book analyzes six villas and houses built from 2015 to 2022 by Alexander Brenner Architects. Few architecture firms in Europe have addressed the villa as a building type as consistently as Alexander Brenner Architects. The studio is widely known for designs characterized by plastic-geometric facades often resembling constructivist tableaux. The interiors, kitchen, cupboards, and other built-in furniture in Alexander Brenner’s villas and houses are offered the same detailed care as its exterior. Gardens with soft and sensual forms surround and contrast with Brenner’s cubic architectural sculptures. Alexander Brenner — A  Holistic Art of Building features six villas and houses built between 2015 and 2022, including the architect’s own home in Stuttgart, the Brenner Research House. Documenting each building in rich detail, it is lavishly illustrated with masterly photographs taken by Zooey Braun, and with plans, drawings, and additional images. This volume offers rich inspiration for anyone interested in contemporary housing design and villas.  Alexander Brenner established his Stuttgart-based firm, Alexander Brenner Architects, in 1990. He also taught at Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart in 1988–2008 and at Biberach University of Applied Sciences in 1990–2006.
