Forgetting the fact Dusty is a lifelong writer, in this book he departs from his career of writing about others, by turning the camera around to reveal many of his personal feelings, thoughts, and observations. Things that never made it into print. He takes you along on his voyage, beginning in his early years, while weaving yarns about friends, family, and the wild places his life has taken him. During the writing of this book, dark clouds of dim health came rolling in. It took him on a tumultuous life turn, suddenly finding himself in the deep slumber of a long coma. His condition was so intense he was not expected to live or recover. Six months later he was finally back at home. What he found on the "other side" is a compelling story that he needed to tell, and you need to read. Dusty Nathan is an author, journalist, on-air personality, and live host. A featured columnist with Gannett (the nation’s #1 newspaper chain) for several years, Dusty has also written for The Los Angeles Herald-Examiner, the Washington Star, the Camden Courier Post, Casino Player and Times: In Harness. Host of the weekly Dinner with Dusty show at Garden State Park as well as Dusty Nathan’s Winner’s Circle (where he interviewed guests such as Johnny Cash and Eddie Arcaro), he has made many live appearances on nationwide TV and radio. He also served as the Executive Director of Homerun, the Committee to Return Pro Baseball to the Nation’s Capital, alongside major leaguers such as Leo Durocher, Willie Mays, and Bucky Dent. While his zany side has seen him strip naked for charity, Nathan’s serious side has earned him a master's degree in education from Temple University, and an FAA pilot’s license from the Bolivar Aviation International School of Aeronautics, amongst other degrees. He has been honored with a citation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania House of Representatives; and noted by many for his holiday toy drives and volunteer work with Project Shine, teaching English and history to refugees.
