She also is the author of Montana Mining Ghost Towns (2002), Wyoming's Historic Forts (2001), Going Along with Lewis and Clark (2000), and Everyday U.S. Geography (2000). Vicky Soderberg, author of Touring Today sections, was a newspaper sportswriter in Indiana and Illinois before turning to travel writing 10 years ago. Since then she has covered 42 states and 11 foreign countries. Her book, Montana Family Outdoor Guide, was published by Montana Magazine, and her current travel book project is the Roadside History of Indiana. When not traveling with her husband and three children, she also writes mysteries and teaches. Joseph Mussulman, creator of the maps, is the producer and principal writer for a progressive website, Discovering Lewis and Clark. He has written several articles about the Lewis and Clark expedition, and is co-publisher of Montana Afloat, a series of interpretive maps for 16 of Montana's major floatable rivers, including the Missouri, Jefferson, Beaverhead, and Yellowstone.
