Length with handle: 90 cm with curved handle (35.5”) Weight: 2,2 kg (4.8 lb) Sheath in vegetable-tanned leather Item no: 434-2 A professional-grade axe, crafted in the manner of historic 'fallers'. Hand-forged from a single piece of steel, meticulously tempered, and sharpened. This traditional American single-bit axe was commissioned by Geoffrey Burke, a New Hampshire boatbuilder and axe enthusiast, with the help of axe collector Lawrence Lyford. The head weighs 3.3 lb, with a bit face of 4 1/2". The axe features an American hickory handle, available in 31" or 35" lengths, with a 31" straight handle option for special orders. It comes with a grain-leather sheath. Grnsfors axes are crafted by highly skilled smiths, who forge with such precision that no additional work is needed to conceal any imperfections. Once satisfied with their work, the smith marks the head with their initials.
