American History, The Story of Liberty! America’s Ancient Heritage through the Reagan Revolution, tells the story of liberty, beginning with the ancient civilizations, continuing through the medieval ages, and blossoming in the United States of America. Upon reading it, the young reader will know what it means to be an American, be called to seek truth, goodness, and beauty, and be inspired to greatness in his own life. The story of liberty did not start with Columbus’ discovery. It began in ancient times. The United States of America was founded upon a set of ideas and ideals that were articulated by the ancient Greeks, Hebrews, and Romans, embraced by Christians, and built upon through the medieval ages in Western Europe, especially in England. The dignity and rights of the individual, the rule of law, morality, justice, private property, the traditional family, morality, and representative democracy are just a few of the principles these great ancient and medieval cultures developed and left as precedents to posterity. In my book, I tie the ancient and medieval past to today and demonstrate the richness and greatness of Western Civilization. When the radical left is on constant attack against the West and Americans no longer know their spiritual ancestry, this is essential knowledge for young people. The founding of America was a turning point in history. At a time where the world was governed by monarchs, tyrants, and despots, the American Founding Fathers established the United States of America, the first modern republic born from a revolution against a monarchy. Though an imperfect place, where some citizens continued the ancient practice of slavery, its leaders had placed in its founding documents the idea that “all men are created equal” and built its governing document, the Constitution, on the idea that “men are not angels.” The Constitution placed limits on the power of government, thus holding back man’s natural tendency to take power. By founding the United States of America, the Founding Fathers didn’t simply form a new country — they signed a promissory note for the liberty of everyone on Earth. As soon as they established their independence, Americans expanded citizenship. Over time, all had the right to own land, to marry, to build a family, or to found a business. This reality, this city shining on a hill, has been for centuries a giant magnet for those from far and distant lands. But in recent generations, these facts have become lost or hidden. Instead of learning how the United States has led the way by expanding liberty for individuals, American children have been learning how their country’s past is based on slavery and how Western Civilization is based on the subjugation of women and minorities. Students have been indoctrinated to think that if someone is wealthy it is because they stole their riches from others. American children are taught that the virtues that promote a strong and just society, such as hard work, honesty, respect for tradition, and the love of God and religion, are false. Some American leaders have stripped away the sacrifices and greatness of the American Founding Fathers, and as a result, our society, the American experiment of a free people governing themselves, is in crisis. When the Communist Soviet Union fell in 1989, it was believed by many that the falsehoods of Marxism would die with it. Unfortunately, it was during the decades of the 1980s and 1990s that radical leftists were taking over America’s top universities. Once in charge of academia, they wrested control of America’s educational publishers, businesses, and bureaucracies. As a result, many if not most of America’s history books are riddled with or dominated by a materialist perspective on history. American History, The Story of Liberty! America's Ancient Heritage through the Reagan Revolution fills a great need in American education.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
