He’s a broken man. In helping them, can he repair himself? Dare he hope for more? Reviewed by K.C. Finn for Readers' Favorite 5-Star Review Another Chance: Peter's Story by Rita M. Boehm is an emotional and suspenseful read about love, healing, and figuring out how to move forward when life knocks you down... This final book in the Second Chances trilogy is about finding hope again, even when the past refuses to let go. Rita M. Boehm makes Peter's journey feel real. His emotions come through in a way that makes you feel every step with him—the grief, the guilt, and the small moments of hope that start creeping in. The Irish countryside setting adds so much to the story. It's peaceful and beautiful, but there's also a loneliness that fits what Peter is going through. The romance happens naturally, and it's more about trust and healing than just attraction. This mix of emotion and suspense keeps things moving so you keep turning the pages. One of my favorite things is how it deals with forgiveness: not just in forgiving others but in learning how to forgive yourself... Overall, Another Chance: Peter's Story is a heartfelt and satisfying ending to the trilogy, and I definitely recommend it. I have fond memories of my trips to Ireland, so it was easy to choose the west coast of that picturesque island as the place for Peter Campbell to rebuild a life shattered by the Yemeni terrorists who came just short of killing him. There was never supposed to be a  Second Chances  trilogy. Initially, I had intended to grant the beleaguered Peter Campbell, the man who played such an important role in Lindsay Talbot's life, a key role in a satisfying conclusion to Beyond Second Chances . In its final incarnation, Beyond Second Chances took another direction and Peter Campbell's story was left unfinished. Hence the need for the third book. Another Chance provides the opportunity for readers to accompany Peter Campbell on his painful journey back to life through uncertain, uncharted, and fearful territory. A large orange tabby cat and a delightful and precocious six-year-old boy become his unexpected guides, and his commitment to protect a frightened woman with gold-flecked eyes drives him to rebuild a bridge to his past that may help both of them survive. As much as I enjoy creating a story, in some ways I mourn its completion. I hate to say good-bye to characters I've come to love. They live on, if only in my mind. If I've done my job, they'll live on in readers' minds as well. Sometimes we need to take a step back to make a leap forward .. . In the exciting conclusion to the Second Chances trilogy, Peter Campbell blesses the marriage of Lindsay Talbot and James Cochran even as he grieves for the relationship he and Lindsay once shared. They are his friends and his link to the man he used to be--before Yemeni terrorists destroyed his life. Broken in both mind and body, Peter retreats to a farm in western Ireland far away from the dangerous world he used to embrace, but he can't travel far enough to escape the debilitating anxiety attacks and horrific nightmares. As Peter focuses on the renovation of an old Irish farmhouse and begins the delicate task of rebuilding his life and reclaiming his health, he becomes entangled in the complicated and secretive lives of his neighbors--a precocious six-year-old boy and his mother. When Maggie Davis reveals the truth about her past and the danger she and her son face, Peter is in too deep to walk away. To save Maggie and her son Peter must build a bridge to his own past and tear down the wall he's built around his heart.Peter's story is one of redemption, inspiration, and rebirth. This is Rita M. Boehm's fifth novel, the final book in the Second Chances trilogy, and continuing proof that it's never too late to follow your childhood dreams. The writing demanded by her career in contract management did little to satisfy the dreams of the little girl with wide-eyed imaginings of creating elegant poetry and compelling prose. So as her career was winding down, she allowed the dreams of the little girl to take flight. She published her first novel in 2014 and hasn't looked back. Her first foray into children's literature, the picture book, Bluebirds in the Garden , created an opportunity to combine her loves of photography, nature, and writing. She was rewarded for her efforts by being awarded the 2019 prize for Best Children's Book by the Flor
