The thought of a step inspiring art seems fantastical. However over the last decade, or so, the 739 sets of public stairways in Pittsburgh have inspired several artists to express their artistic impressions of the steps in different mediums. Artistic representations of the steps have appeared in acrylic/watercolor, mosaic, mixed media, poetry, and photographic formats.
