Beautiful wood engravings by Gertrude Hermes in a new calendar from Flame Tree, created with the Ashmolean Museum. The Ashmolean began when the wealthy antiquary Elias Ashmole (1617–92) gifted his collection to the University of Oxford in 1682. It was then combined with an older University collection that included Guy Fawkes’ lantern. Today, the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology houses Western Art, Eastern Art, Antiquities, Cast Gallery and the Coin Room. The beautiful wood engravings and illustrations in this calendar are by the acclaimed British printmaker Gertrude Hermes. Informative text accompanies each work and the datepad features previous and next month’s views. Printed on FSC-certified paper, with plastic-free packaging. Designed and developed at Flame Tree Publishing, independent publisher and creator of fine, illustrated books, journals and art calendars.
