In the recent decades, the climate change has been intensified and sea ice has been melting rapidly. Profound changes have taken place unprecedentedly in the Arctic in terms of the geo-environment, geopolitics and geo-economics. These changes bring the Arctic and the whole world closer than before, especially the Asian countries.Countries from the outside world, especially Asian countries have actively participated in the effective governance,environmental protection, resource exploitation and the sea lane use of the Arctic.6 Asian countries, including China, have become the official observers of the Council which offers opportunities for Asian countries to deal with involving issues of the Arctic. As the fruit of the studies carried out by some Asian scholars and those who are specialized in studying the Arctic, this book deeply elaborates and discusses the ways for Asian countries to better participate in the Arctic governance and international cooperation.
