This is the untold story of the men who became the raiders of abolitionist John Brown -- their origins and their lives before they agreed to join him, how they got to his headquarters at the Kennedy farm in southern Washington County Maryland, their assignments for the invasion of the federal armory, and their march with him on October 16, 1859 to the ferry in what became the infamous John Brown Raid. It also tells what subsequently happened to each one, including the ones who got away.
