He has worked for the Seguin Gazette, Arlington Citizen-Journal, and Corpus Christi Caller-Times newspapers. His articles also have appeared in San Antonio Monthly, Running Through Texas, AUSTIN, Texas Coach, American Football Monthly, Mesh Point (newsletter of the Indiana Wishbone Association), and Austin Metrosports magazines. He has won seven awards for news and feature writing from the Texas School Public Relations Association and has worked as a public relations professional in education and corporate circles. A native of Seguin, Texas, Lozano is a graduate of Seguin High School, where he was editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. He holds a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he received the Stuart M. Long Memorial Scholarship in journalism.
