Iranian refugee Mehran Karimi Nasseri actually resided at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport from August 1988 to July 2006. Sir Alfred Mehran, is a unique character whose experiences were so fascinating that Steven Spielberg created a successful film, "The Terminal," on them. He spent nearly two decades at Terminal 1 of the Charles de Gaulle Airport because the authorities forbade him from leaving the airport.
