You see it’s gender not genre, that’s important in Back Dated, as the reluctant hero Ray Flaxman discovers, when a strange young woman comes looking for a mate. It’s the big Bang all over again, as present and future collide, and the continued existence of the male half of the species depends on just one man and one woman. Is Ray up to such a Herculean task? He has a full set of male chromosomes certainly, but there’s a lot more to being a man than that . . . Chris Niblock was born in London, but now lives in Shropshire. Soul Trader is his second novel.
