Barcelona offers the visitor unique food, ideal weather, excellent beaches, interesting Gaudi-inspired architecture as well as Catalan art and music. The city successfully hosted the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. The nearby Costa Brava and Costa Dorada rose to prominence as tourist destinations during the 1950s.
