Troubleshooting & Care Guide: Beautyrest LuxAire Air Mattress 1. "My mattress seems to be losing air." (The Break-In Period) Issue: After the first few nights of use, the mattress feels softer or appears to have lost air. Cause: This is not a leak. The mattress is constructed from high-quality Dura-Vinyl, which naturally relaxes and stretches during the first 3-5 uses. This expansion increases the internal volume, causing the pressure to drop. Solution: This is a standard "Break-In" period. Simply "top off" the mattress with the pump for 10-20 seconds each night until the material fully settles. 2. "The pump stopped inflating before the bed was firm." (Auto-Shutoff Safety) Issue: The pump stops running while inflating, and the bed feels too soft or won't inflate further. Cause: The LuxAire features a safety Auto-Shutoff mechanism designed to prevent the motor from overheating and the mattress from bursting due to over-inflation. Solution: If the pump stops, the mattress has reached its safe maximum capacity. Do not attempt to force more air in, as this can damage the seams. If the pump stops prematurely (bed is still flat), ensure the motor has cooled down. Unplug the unit for 20 minutes to reset the thermal safety switch, then try again. 3. "The mattress deflates during the night." (Valve & Dial Check) Issue: Significant air loss occurs during use. Cause: Often, the pump control dial or switch is not returned to the fully "OFF" or "LOCKED" position after inflation. If left partially open, air will slowly backflow through the pump. Solution: After inflation, ensure the control dial/switch is turned completely to the OFF position. If your model has a secondary manual valve (for quick release), verify that the cap is screwed on tightly and the inner plug is fully seated. 4. "The mattress is misshapen or bulging." Issue: One area of the mattress is higher than the rest. Cause: Uneven weight distribution or internal beam stress. Solution: Ensure the mattress is on a flat surface free of obstacles. Avoid standing or jumping on the mattress, as this can rupture the internal coil beams that maintain the flat sleeping surface. 5. Impact of Temperature Issue: The mattress feels soft in a cold room. Cause: Cold air contracts (occupies less volume), making the bed feel softer. Solution: This is physics, not a defect. If using the mattress in a cold environment (below 65°F), you may need to add a small amount of air before sleep.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
