HOW TO USE A STROP?

Leather strops for sharpening knives is frequently used with polishing compounds that give a mirror polish to an edge. That’s why our set consists of the sharpening strop with compound. Start by applying it to the surface of the strop with the leather. After that, you need to spread all the area of a block strop with the compound. Now put the blade on the leather paddle strop towards the handle. The front line should be towards the handle. You can set the angle around 15-30 degrees of the blade raising the spine. Then continuing pushing the blade up towards the top of the stropping strap. When you reach the top, just flip the blade over so cutting edge is pointed towards the top of the leather strop. After adjusting it pull towards the handle of the woodcarving knife sharpening.

HOW ABOUT POLISHING COMPOUND? You can use a strop without any compound applied to it if you need only to remove blemishes. But, if you need to razor-sharp your knives, a compound will help you do it quicker.
