Becoming Brave is an inspirational story about a young boy in a U.S. Coast Guard family. The children’s book details the emotions a child in a military family goes through as his or her parent is preparing to deploy. Through storytelling and visual art, the book exemplifies the bravery of military children while highlighting the valuable work the U.S. Coast Guard does. About the Author: Andrew Prioleau is a husband, a father of two wonderful daughters, and has served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Coast Guard. Andrew’s aim is to encourage the children in military families and highlight the life-saving work of the U.S. Coast Guard through art and writing as seen in this printed work. Charity A portion of the proceeds from copies sold is donated to the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA). CGMA is a charitable organization in the U.S. Coast Guard that financially assists Coast Guard families and relies solely on donations.
