During the 2020 Pandemic lockdown, Louie started drawing community chalk art to lift the hopes and spirits of not only his co-workers but the community at large. He texted people in his neighborhood to set up a teddy bear in the window, so he knew after a long shift at the university exactly where to go and leave a driveway chalk drawing. The 10-foot angel he drew at the hospital parking lot where the Nurses, Doctors, and Staff gathered in front of the huge plate glass windows was unbelievable. When he looked up, they were jumping, blowing kisses and hugs, making heart-shaped signs with their hands; some were even crying in tears. That's when it hit him - He saw it, he felt it, it made him sick... He witnessed the huge demand for HOPE! He is being inspired and motivated by these moments in time and putting them into his book. A heart-warming tale inspired by his own loss in 2020 - his best friend, Packy the Dog. The COVID-19 pandemic has coattails that are HATE and DESPAIR. His book is illustrated to defeat this with HOPE and LOVE... BIG LOVE! The local media have tagged him as the #PavementPicasso.
