Joshua Byrd is unlike most children, a black sheep. He grew up in small town in Maine decimated by economic decline and opioids. He is haunted at an early age by a tragic death in the family, a ghost that follows him throughout his life, but he is also followed by some sort of hidden force leaving him pieces to a puzzle secret even to him. These synchronicities become more obvious as he falls in love with a pen-pal he had yet to meet, and after decades of darkness, doubt, and failure, Joshua begins practicing meditation and starts to truly take note of the power of these synchronicities. He finally leaves his gloomy hometown behind and follows this mysterious force, a thirst for adventure, and most importantly love, west, to lands of prophecy. Here, through self-discovery and exploration inward and outward, Joshua uncovers the most elusive treasure known to man, and on one fateful day, he pieces it all together and finds himself soaring down a rabbit hole that would take him across space and time. Whether for good or for bad, he cannot be sure. What is for certain is that it was for love.
