Prior to his arrival in the Ecuadorian capital he had over 50 years experience in photography both as an amateur and professional. Many of his photos can be found gracing various publications and web sites. Steve continued using that photographic expertise to record the avian diversity of Ecuador. Along his journey he began to document the best birding areas and how to reach them in this small but diverse country
