In this book, we revisit Canada, focusing on the Boeing 737 operators based in the country. It was first introduced by Pacific Western Airlines in 1969, and it has been used by 42 Canadian operators, including private companies. The 737s were used in a variety of roles, ranging from short-hops in remote locations, such as Labrador and the Yukon, to transcontinental flights between major cities, vacation flights to the Caribbean, Mexico, and the USA, and for oil and mining operations in the Canadian Arctic. It was originally intended as a short-haul jet for 200-800-mile segments, but it is now used for 2,000-mile routes across this vast country. It now flies scheduled services across the Atlantic Ocean, a remarkable event for the most produced commercial airliner in history. The book contains 140 pages full of high-resolution images of every airline that flew the 737 in Canada, starting with Eastern Provincial Airways of Newfoundland and Pacific Western in Alberta in 1969 to the latest addition in 2025, Buffalo Airways of the Northwest Territories. The Great Airlines Series are more than photo books; it contains a history of each carrier, their various liveries and detailed fleet tables. The Canadian Airlines leased Boeing 737s from many European Charter airlines, especially during the high traffic winter season in Canada (low season in Europe). Air Transat, CanJet, Canadian Pacific Airlines - CP Air, Nordair, Pacific Western, and Quebecair were some of the airlines that leased 737s. Sunwing Airlines was the largest consumer of leased 737s, with 138 aircraft leases over its 20-year operations. All of them are documented in the book. The leased 737s resulted in unusual hybrid colour schemes noted in Canada during the winter charter season. If you are interested in how the Boeing 737 is used in Canada or the history of Canadian airlines that flew the 737, this book will be of interest to you.
