Before the American farm crisis of the 1980’s devastated the Midwest, the Sandoval family led a hard but happy life on their farm in Missouri. Then, several unforeseeable disasters forced them to surrender their land to an unforgiving bank. The family broke apart, disintegrating into drugs, alcohol, and crime. When his sixteen-year-old son Storm is being released from prison, Ray Sandoval travels across the country to unite with him for the first time in many years. Ray is determined to stay sober, work, save money, buy a new farm, and provide a better life for his son. The small town of Harmony, Missouri, offers a start, but as father and son struggle to find common ground, dark forces from the pass bear down and render their dreams increasingly distant. Desperate and heartbreaking decisions seem to be the only way to bring father and son together.
