Introducing the Brain Stormers, a motley crew of superheroes intent on saving the brain from mass destruction. From Captain Frontal to Count Amygdala, these heroes keep your brain running and defend it from all kinds of bad guys! Each hero is in charge of a different part of the brain. Captain Frontal, for example, has powers of logic and planning, much like the frontal lobe of the brain. Meanwhile, his neighbor, Dr. Temporal, plays a magic saxophone and will always lend a listening ear, similar to how the temporal lobe functions as a processing center for music, speech, and language. Of course, these superpowers do not begin to cover every function of the brain, but it will give a solid foundation for early neuroscience learning, whether in preschool or in a college first-year setting.
