The convergence of technology in information societies symbolises and generally refers to two or more things coming together and evolving into one. In other words, an information society is a knowledge society with information being the capital and resources in humans utilisation in the concerning of living in aspect to Academic, Work, Business, Economy, Family and socialisation. Meanwhile, bridging the digital divide in AI and information overload would enable the convergence of new technology to be well convened to every aspect of life in the development of urban and rural information society. Also, it would enable the gaps between those who can have access to the new technology and those who can’t have access in terms of cost and availability and such could be related to Western countries and underdeveloped countries. Therefore, Bridging the digital divide in AI and information overload would also enable necessary information that is timely important and meaningful to human development and add to the growth of human productivity. Therefore, the Information age or information society has not been the first convergences of technology. I can remember vividly my high school days before the invention of the mobile phone. Communication in the information society has always been communicated without - not having the thoughts, imagination or mindset of the present days of mobile phone communication in the information society. Humans communicate and to humans, their ways of communication at that stage of the information revolution are utmost to their ways of living and socialising. The fourth industrial revolution AI is in the group of disruptive technologies in the fourth industrial revolution. Well, many may be thinking that discovery would end in the fourth industrial revolution. A few days ago after completing my study in one of the modules in Information science, in the study guide the lecturer instructed the students to watch a YouTube video on disruptive technology – One of the take home from the YouTube video is that somewhere in the United Kingdom some organization has already grouped stages of humans information society development with regards to stages of industrial revolution. Also, the YouTube instructor mentioned his experiences presently in our environment in terms of the convergence of IOT, robotics and how this technology being used in every day of the human environment and society concerning Restaurants, Education, Health, Economy, Business, Socialization and family gatherings. Meanwhile, in this book, a study and explanation will be given concerning the convergence of technology in information societies and the bridging of the digital divide in AI and information overload.
