I love a book with romantic tension and no instalove and this one delivers. The love scenes weren't super cringey like so many others. Cade is a super sexy cowboy that any romance reader will fall for. The steam level is great, the suspense and action are tense. There are a few trigger warnings: sexual assault being the biggest of them. Addie is strong but sometimes I felt like groaning, like again? This poor girl was put through the wringer and had to take blow after blow. In the end this was a very enjoyable book and I read it all in one afternoon because I had to see how it ended. I also really appreciated the redemption arc for a side character and some of the other characters are great additions to the story line too. In the end this is a classic cowboy romance that fans of western romances won't want to miss. The attraction between Addie and Cade is immediate and only becomes hotter as the book continues. Granted, there is a hint of cliché in the storyline, but it is made better by the high quality of writing and the varied characters readers can relate to. Searing hot love scenes will have e-readers being once again used as fans when things get too hot. Do not miss a fantastic start to what promises to be an awesome series.
