Young Geoffrey/Jess leaves the comforts of his Eastern home to live with his estranged cousin Max, Vietnam veteran who owns a ranch in Montana. Having lost one too many friends while in the U. S. Army in Afghanistan, Jess seeks the solace of country living. Though talented in most things he's set out to do, he has never been good with animals. The family joke is that if you wish to bury your pets, just have Jess watch over them. Cousin Max is determined to get Jess through his PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and so sets out to make a rancher out of him. He insists that until Jess proves himself worthy of living in the ranch house, he must sleep out in the barn. The house is in great need of repair, so Max assigns Jess to the job of restoring it. He also introduces Jess to his many Veteran friends, including the daughter of his Marine friend who is the waitress in the restaurant where he and his coffee chums meet together daily. Although Max has placed his faith in Jesus as his Savior, he still has his rough edges. Jess is thrown off balance to such a degree he finds himself healing on the inside. Serious subjects are made palatable by the continuous humor in which this modern day tale is told. Max daily teaches Jess in matters of eating healthy, thinking healthy and interacting with people in a healthy manner. And with each passing day, Jess draws closer to being healed of the PTSD.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
