In 1913 the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company (later to become the Brooklyn Manhattan Transit Corp or BMT) entered into a contract with the City of New York to operate various subway routes. The company documented the progress of the construction of its routes. This book contains a series of over 150 photographs taken from 1914 to 1915 documented the construction of the connection from the 4th Avenue subway in Brooklyn to the West End and Culver lines via 38th Street.
