Species is US Native, not introduced alien Seed Packet designed for 15 Square Feet of Planting A 6’ to 12’ tall native perennial shrub with 1 ½” wide clusters of tiny white flowers. A summer flowering plant requiring wet soils to standing water and full sun to part shade. Button Bush is a 6’ to 12’ tall native perennial wetland shrub. It flowers in summer with 1 ½” wide clusters of tiny flowers. The extended styles give the flowers a pin cushion-like appearance. Button Bush cannot tolerate dry soils and is usually found in swamps, wet floodplains, marshes, pond borders, and ditches in full sun or part shade. Button Bush is used in native plant gardens, shrub borders, in water gardens, and in standing water features. Ducks and shore birds eat the seeds and it is an excellent wildlife cover plant. Humming Birds, Butterflies, Bees, and other insects are attracted to Button Bush. Native Americans are reported to have used Button Bush medicinally for numerous ailments.
