Simply put onto a Q-tip and apply to Hummingbird feeder poles, Oriole feeder hangers, nectar feeder flower pedals, bird feeder poles, shepards hooks, base of potted plants, or along the outside of a windowsil. Essential oils will lose their scent over time or after a hard rain, so keep an eye on activity and apply an additional coat as needed. You only apply to the bird feeder pole or shepards hook 6 to 8 inches from the ground up to effectively deter the ants.
