What does it mean to be created in God's image? This question has been asked throughout history and unfortunately it has often been misunderstood, sometimes with dangerous consequences. I've had many conversations with people who believe that being created in God's image means we are actually gods ourselves- Little divine beings who just need to remember our true nature. This breaks my heart because this misunderstanding leads people away from the true gospel and their need for Jesus Christ. Is my attempt to lovingly explain what Scripture actually teaches about being created in God's image. Not what tradition says, not what various teachers claim, but what the Bible itself reveals when we read it contextually, understanding who was speaking to, to whom they were speaking, why it is said, and what it means in its original setting.
